Please read our terms and conditions carefully.

Order Despatch

Goods will be despatched when payment has been received. For credit and debit card payments, we endeavour to despatch goods within 48 hours of receiving your order. For cheque payments and PayPal eCheque payments, goods will be despatched once the payment has cleared. Please note that a PayPal eCheque payment can take a week or more to clear - this is a restriction of PayPal, not Books About You. At our discretion, we may despatch urgent orders prior to a payment being cleared. 

 

We accept orders and payments from non-UK addresses but can despatch goods to UK addresses only. All payments must be in sterling

 

Payment by Cheque or Postal Order

Cheques and Postal Orders should be made payable to Books About You.

 

Payment by PayPal or NOCHEX

The email address for credit and debit card payments by PayPal or NOCHEX is sales@booksaboutyou.co.uk

 

Overpayments and Underpayments

Where an overpayment has been made by you, we will refund the relevant amount. For payments by PayPal, this will be through PayPal; for payments by cheque, postal order or NOCHEX, this will be by cheque.

 

Where an underpayment has been made by you, we will request a further payment and will despatch the goods once this has been received.

 

Faulty Goods

Books – if the mistake is ours, we will, of course, resend the books without further charge. If the mistake has been made by you, we will resend the book at a price of £5.50 including P&P for a 9” x 6” book and £7.50 including P&P for a 12” x 9” book.

Gifts – if the mistake is ours, we will, of course, resend the gift without further charge. If the mistake has been made by you, we will resend the gift but this will be charged at the full price, plus P&P, as these goods are not manufactured by us but by an outside supplier.

 

Order Cancellation

Orders cannot be cancelled once the payment has been received. This is because all products are personalised and cannot be resold.

 

Typefaces

We can personalise books only with letters and number from the standard roman alphabet – that is upper- and lower-case A to Z and numerals zero (0) to nine (9). Accented letters are not available and orders with such letters will not be processed and payments returned or refunded.

 

Discounts

Discounts may be available for volume book orders (minimum 15 books) – please contact us before placing your order for a quote.

The action of sending feedback to Books About You, constitutes an agreement that the information sent will be published on the website's Previous Feedback page.

 

Christmas Office Shutdown

In order that all orders can be despatched in time for Christmas, we specify a final date for payments to be received by us. This deadline date is placed prominently on the website during October or November. We also specify the date when the office will reopen - usually the first weekend in January. No orders will be processed between these two dates. When the office reopens, we will contact anyone who has placed an order and made a payment to ask if the order is to be despatched or the payment refunded.
